Garrod Prize

Document Actions
The prestigious Garrod Prize is open to scientists with a non-clinical background currently working in rheumatology or a related discipline.

BSR has simplified the application process for the 2009 Garrod Prize – it is now even easier to compete for the recognition you deserve! As an added incentive the prize money has been increased from £500 to £1000.

To apply submit 3 – 5 published papers, supported by a 1,000 word editorial including an explanation of why your work is significant for rheumatology and rheumatologists. The essay should be a single piece of research comprising not only of the content found in a standard published report, but must also explore the historical perspective and its broader relevance.

References should be numbered consecutively and should conform to the style of the BSR journal Rheumatology.

The winner will receive:

  • £1000
  • Complimentary registration to the BSR Annual Conference, 28 April – 1 May 2009
  • The opportunity to present their work during the plenary session at the Annual Conference 2009
  • The winner may also have their work published in the BSR journal Rheumatology

Submission Deadline

The deadline for the submission of 2009 applications is 28 November 2008.

Post your entry to the BSR offices (Bride House, 18-20 Bride Lane, London, EC4Y 8EE) or email it to lbellintani@rheumatology.org.uk
