Innovation Awards
The awards, supported by Abbott Immunology, are open to innovations in any field of rheumatology medicine and are judged within two categories:
Category 1: Innovation in Practice
Demonstration of a project and initiative that has improved patient care.
Category 2: Innovation in Development
Demonstration of a pioneering new strategy or concept that could be used in practice to improve patient care.
The awards will be presented to the winners at Rheumatology '09 which will be held at the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) 28 April – 1 May 2009
The entries in each category will be narrowed down to a shortlist of three, and from these a winner will be chosen.
Shortlisted entries will be awarded £250, plus a £250 donation to research and development within a charity/organisation of their choice, complimentary registration to Rheumatology '09 and the chance to present the innovation as a poster presentation at the conference.
The final two winners will each receive:

Opportunity to display the innovation as a poster presentation at Rheumatology '09

Complimentary registration of choice to either the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) or the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Conference

Framed certificate presented by the BSR President and Abbott Immunology during the conference
Submission Deadline
Entrants will need to complete an eight-page application form. Submission deadline 24th December 2008.
