SpecialtyCertificate Examination in Rheumatology
The BSR, in partnership with the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, has embarked upon a programme to deliver the Specialty Certificate Examination in Rheumatology.
The Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) is a compulsory component of assessment for Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) for all UK trainees whose specialist training in Rheumatology began in or after August 2007. The examination compliments workplace-based assessments and ensures that trainees have sufficient knowledge to practice safely and competently as consultants.
The next SCE inRheumatology is scheduled to take place on:
| SCE | Overseas/UK Opening Date for Applications | Overseas Closing Date for Applications | UK closing Date for Applications | Year of Exam | Month of Exam | Exam Date |
| Rheumatology | 28/02/2013 | 28/03/2013 | 23/05/2013 | 2013 | June | 27th |
Rheumatology | 26/02/2014 | 26/03/2014 | 21/05/2014 | 2014 | June | 25th |
Anyone who is in a type 1 higher specialty training post (i.e. has an NTN) or who has MRCP(UK) is eligible to sit the examination. All candidates who take the exam for the first time in 2010 and who are unsuccessful in their attempt will automatically be offered a retake at no extra charge.
