The Michael Mason prize

The esteemed Michael Mason Prize is awarded by the Heberden Committee for excellence in clinical or scientific research in the field of rheumatology. To apply, submit three to five published papers on a related subject, supported by a 1,000 word editorial including an explanation of why the work is significant for the discipline of rheumatology. Please also submit a copy of your full CV. References should be numbered consecutively and should conform to the style of the BSR journal Rheumatology. |

The winner will receive
- £1,000
- The Michael Mason medal
- Complimentary registration to Rheumatology 2011, 12-14 April 2011
- The opportunity to present their work during the plenary session at Rheumatology 2011
- The winner’s work will be considered for publication in the BSR journal Rheumatology
Submission deadline
The deadline for the submission of 2011 applications is Friday 7 January 2011. Entrants will be notified by the 31 January 2011.Rules and eligibility
- Open to medical and non-medical candidates who are members of BSR.
- Applicants are expected to be at a relatively early stage of their research career.
