The esteemed Michael Mason Prize is awarded by the Heberden Committee for excellence in clinical or scientific research in the field of rheumatology.

The winner will receive
- £1,000
- The Michael Mason medal
- Complimentary registration to Rheumatology 2012, 1-3 May 2012
- The opportunity to present their work during the plenary session at Rheumatology 2012
- The winner’s work will be considered for publication in the BSR journal Rheumatology
Rules and eligibility
- Open to medical and non-medical candidates who are members of BSR
- Applicants are expected to be at a relatively early stage of their research career
How to apply
Submission deadline is Friday 18 November 2011. Entrants will be notified by 16 December 2011.To apply, submit:
- Your full CV
- Three to five published papers on a related subject
- A 1,000 word supporting editorial including an explanation of why the work is significant for the discipline of rheumatology
References should be numbered consecutively and should conform to the style of the BSR journal Rheumatology.
