Osteoporosis Award 2010

Supported by Shire Pharmaceuticals

Pioneering best practice in osteoporosis: prevention of falls and fractures

This year we are pleased to introduce our new Osteoporosis Award. Recognising the importance of helping to protect frail and elderly patients from the devastating consequences of falls, and thus of keeping patients active and maintaining their independence, the award is designed to highlight examples of projects or initiatives which demonstrate best practice and improved patient care within the field of osteoporosis. The British Society for Rheumatology invites healthcare professionals working in the field of osteoporosis to apply for the award, which is sponsored by Shire Pharmaceuticals.

Each entry must demonstrate clearly its innovation and the way in which it has shown best practice and improved patient care within osteoporosis.

The winner will receive:

  • £500
  • A £500 donation to research and development within a charity/organisation of their choice
  • Complimentary registration to Rheumatology 2010.
