BSR Statement on the Use of Acupuncture in Osteoarthritis

Acupuncture may be one of a number of modalities including physiotherapy and analgesics that can provide short term relief for patients with degenerative arthritis. It is unlikely to have a major effect either on the underlying cause of the condition or to be of long term benefit.
