The London South region is split into South East London and South West London in terms of clinical and referral pathways. There is active regional audit led by Dr Mark Lloyd at Frimley Park. There are regular South West London regional meetings run by Dr Patrick Kiely of St Georges showcasing recent clinical and research developments. The teaching hospitals each run their own regular academic meetings. Dr Louise Pollard of Lewisham is the clinical research network lead for the area and the region is very active in recruiting to portfolio studies. King’s and Guys and St Thomas’ are part of one of London's foremost Academic Health Science Centres: Kings Health Partners.

The trainees are part of the London Deanery and the majority take part in the MSc in Rheumatology run through Kings College London in their first few years. Senior training days are run throughout the region.
Trainees are in mostly Rheumatology/ GIM positions in the non teaching hospitals.
