We've signed a letter to the G20 urging world leaders to ensure a climate-friendly recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, taking account of air pollution and climate breakdown.

More than 350 organisations representing more than 40 million health professionals, along with more than 4500 individual health professionals from 90 different countries signed the letter.

We're asking that health professionals' voices are heard as part of the economic recovery packages now under consideration, ensuring that suggestions do not undermine public health, putting patients, health professionals and broader communities at unnecessary risk.

Some excerpts from the letter: "Health professionals stand united in support of a pragmatic, science-based approach to managing the COVID-19 pandemic. In that same spirit, we also stand united in support of a #HealthyRecovery from this crisis.

"The enormous investments your governments will make over the coming months in key sectors like health care, transport, energy and agriculture must have health protection and promotion embedded at their core."
