  • BSR CONFERENCE
    BSR holds an annual scientific meeting to advance knowledge and practice in the field of rheumatology. It is attended by over 1,500 delegates. Alongside a large exhibition the meeting features keynote speakers, education updates, clinical case reports and abstract presentations.
    The next conference will be held in the SECC, Glasgow, 28 April - 1 May 2009.
  • JOURNAL: RHEUMATOLOGY
    BSR produces the highly respected scientific journal Rheumatology. Published in 12 issues a year the journal enjoys a consistently high impact factor (4.045) and is ranked among the leading journals of its kind. It regularly produces supplements of scientific or clinical interest.

  • PUBLIC AFFAIRS
    BSR regularly responds to consultations from the government, department of health and a wide range of other policy-making organisations, on issues affecting the arthritis community and of wider health service interest.

  • CLINICAL AFFAIRS
    BSR produces its own standards and guidelines on a wide range of areas, we also contribute to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Technology Appraisals on new treatments and therapies for arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.
  • BSR BIOLOGICS REGISTER (BSRBR)
    In 2001, BSR set up a Biologics Register after NICE issued guidance on anti-TNFα therapies for rheumatoid arthritis. The purpose of the Register is to monitor the long-term safety of biologic agents in patients with rheumatic diseases. A ground-breaking project, it is the only study of its kind in Europe.

  • EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT
    BSR hosts a variety of scientific meetings and educational courses to further professional development in the field of rheumatology. We also offer a number of prestigious prizes to reward innovative work.
