13 February 2019

The ACCEA award round for 2019 is now open, you have until 5pm on Thursday 4 April to apply for an award.

Please read the 2019 guide for applicants before applying. Awards are available for NHS consultants and academic GPs.

Applying for an award

British Society for Rheumatology is a recognised nominating body and is permitted to recommend a limited number of members to ACCEA and provide citations to support applications.

If you'd like to be considered for support, you will need to submit an application to ceawards@rheumatology.org.uk well before the official ACCEA closing date. The deadline to submit applications is 5pm on Monday 4 March 2019.

Please use the following documents for your submission:

Cover sheet

Main application form

There are optional forms for candidates to complete to further help their application. It is suggested that you complete ONE of the following if you are applying for a Bronze or Silver award, up to TWO if you applying for a Gold award, and up to THREE if you are applying for a platinum award:

Research and innovation

Teaching and training

Leadership management

All applications received by BSR are reviewed by its Higher Awards Committee, which is chaired by Dr Chetan Mukhtyar, BSR Honorary Secretary. Candidates will be notified of a decision via email by Friday 15 March.

Often there is fierce competition for the awards and we can only offer support to a limited number of applicants. If we are unable to support your application, alternative support is available from organisations such as the Royal College of Physicians.

Applying for a renewal

We will also support applications for renewals. Consultants will need to put in a renewal application if they received their current award in the 2015 round, or if their award was last renewed in 2014.

Please contact us at ceawards@rheumatology.org.uk or on 0207 842 0913 if you have any queries
