Members recently took part in interactive mentoring workshops with coach Alexis Hutson, learning about active listening, the mentoring dynamic and how to ‘take a thought for a walk’.
Alexis guided mentors and mentees to examine what they wanted from their mentoring relationship, what mentoring looks like to them and the unique effect mentoring can have on your professional and personal relationships across rheumatology.
Participants came away with a renewed sense of the responsibility and value mentoring provides. One member said: “Mentoring might be considered an ‘extra’ or something you might strive to ‘fit in’; today’s session reminded me how important it is for both the mentor and mentee to find time for these kinds of relationships and the unique insights they provide.
If you’re interested in attending a future session, please contact Membership Executive Sam Bond who’ll contact you when future dates are released.
