We're excited to announce that we've been named winners in the Best for Flexible Recruitment category at the Working Families Best Practice Awards. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday 20 June, at Vintners Hall, and celebrates pioneering employers whose stand-out cultures and working practices are leading the way in flexible and employee-friendly workplaces.

Our Director of People and Resources, Jessica Badley, said:

"We're so pleased our efforts to improve our recruitment practices have been recognised. We want to attract a diverse range of people to work with us at BSR, and we know that flexibility is something many people value."

Our efforts and dedication to putting people at the heart of our recruitment process and commitment to flexible working have been a huge part of acquiring this award. Currently, we are trialling a 4.5-day working week, and we're focusing on making our recruitment process equitable and inclusive in order to be an employer of choice for a wide range of people.

Jane van Zyl, Chief Executive of Working Families said:

“Congratulations to the British Society for Rheumatology and to all the winners of this year’s Best Practice Awards. It’s so encouraging that, as we emerge from the pandemic, so many employers are responding to the evidence that flexibility doesn’t just work, it can work better. Our remarkable finalists are helping to highlight the benefits of family-friendly policies and cultures for everyone. They have found solutions that work both for the employees and the business, and are reaping the rewards of a more productive, more engaged workforce.”

Now in their fourteenth year, Working Families’ Best Practice Awards showcase and celebrate employers who are offering flexibility for all their people and going above and beyond in their support for parents and carers.
