Person-centred care is defined as coordinated, personalised care to achieve the health outcomes that allow a person to conduct their chosen lifestyle. This requires a whole-person approach to treatment and care, in addition to clinicians’ sharing of power and responsibility with the patient.


Within this position paper British Society for Rheumatology aims to outline the role healthcare professionals can play in relation to person-centred care, and outlines recommendations to facilitate this.
