Practice & Quality
Rheumatology is constantly evolving and we're here to help you, not just to keep up-to-date, but to drive innovation and deliver outstanding patient care.
We are passionate about excellence in rheumatology care and, through our practice and quality initiatives, our aim is to support our members to deliver the best care at all stages of the care pathway, to improve the lives of children and adults with rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease.
These initiatives include national guidelines and standards that underpin the delivery of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease care by our members in the UK – e.g.
clinical guidelines
,
audits
,
peer review
and our upcoming
quality review scheme
.
Our patient registers data and research function has helped to increase our knowledge about new and existing treatments, providing data on patient safety and drug efficacy.
The integration of clinical care, data and research allows us to highlight examples of best practice and advances in the science and practice of rheumatology through publications in our journal
Rheumatology
.
We also provide professional development opportunities for our members to support the delivery of their multidisciplinary team roles including a range of specialist fellowships and a mentoring scheme.
Working with all relevant organisations to achieve joint goals across the wider healthcare landscape is key for us and this includes partnerships with GIRFT (Getting it Right First Time) &
RAIRDA
(Rare Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases Alliance).
More information on all of these quality improvement initiatives can be found below.
