The imaging course will explore common radiological investigations relevant to rheumatology and will cover modalities including Ultrasound scan, MRI, X-Ray and CT used in conditions presenting in the peripheral joints, chest, spine and vascular system.

By the end of this course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the radiological investigations relevant to rheumatology assessment including MRI, CT, USS, X-ray relevant to peripheral, spine, chest and vascular presentations, including a basic understanding of interpretation of the images in order to enable a better understanding of radiology reporting.
  • Recognise your own role in requesting and assessing radiological investigations and the impact on the patient. 
  • Identify and act on clinically significant results and red flags 
  • Provide relevant information for patients regarding radiological investigation results as part of a holistic approach to care
  • Make clinical decisions based on appropriate requesting and interpretation of peripheral and spinal imaging
  • Understand the role of chest and vascular imaging and utilize these modalities to enhance rheumatology clinical practice and decision making

This is a one-day course aimed at the entire multidisciplinary team.
