BSR is thrilled to introduce Sarah Campbell as our new CEO. Sarah has held the role of Director of Practice and Quality for BSR since January 2021. She brings with her extensive leadership experience gained from working within the health sector for over 20 years.
Prior to joining BSR, Sarah held various roles at the Royal College of Physicians where for almost ten years she focused on improving the quality and safety of medical care. She also has a background in health policy and influencing the public agenda surrounding the NHS.
Sarah will be taking over from Ali Rivett on Monday 22 May 2023, who will be moving as the new Chief Executive of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Commenting on her new role, Sarah said: “I'm delighted to have been appointed CEO of BSR. This is an exciting time to lead BSR as we welcome Jo Ledingham as our new President and look to implement a new five-year strategy.
“I'm looking forward to working with our board, members, and our amazing team of staff to continue to develop a society the specialty can be proud of.
“Ali leaves us with an incredible legacy and big shoes to fill; huge thanks to him for the support he's given me over the last two years.”
Incoming President, Jo Ledingham, said: “Following a highly competitive interview process, I’m delighted to welcome Sarah Campbell as our new CEO at BSR. Her skills and expertise will be of significant benefit to our members.
