Overview

Targeted at experienced rheumatology health professionals and nurses, this course offers updates, clinical examination sessions and in-depth education on treating and managing patients with Connective Tissue Diseases.

Venue: Lister Hospital Postgraduate Centre, Stevenage

CPD: 10 hours

This course is aimed at rheumatology nurses and other health professionals with existing rheumatology experience, who have an interest in extending their skillbase to include more complex autoimmune connective tissue disease patients.

You'll enjoy education on new skillsets such as advanced history taking, clinical examination and developing an academic profile.

You'll focus on improving your confidence and clinical skills in recognising complications, assessing disease activity and impact on patients and learn about career progression as a health professional in rheumatology. The programme offers a wide range of topics delivered through a variety of learning mediums.

Learning objectives

  • To learn the key elements of history-taking that help identify CTDs and their complications

  • To develop practical clinical examination skills for patients with CTDs, myositis and scleroderma

  • To understand and explore the utility of various disease tools and their clinical application for patients

  • To understand and explore opportunities for career development and sub-specialisation in rheumatology

Cancellations received in writing by the British Society for Rheumatology events team by 7 January 2020 will be entitled to a full refund minus a cancellation fee of £25 for members and £40 for non-members. We regret that we cannot offer refunds for cancellations received after this date. Substitutions may be made but this will incur a £25 administration fee.
