Overview

The Nailfold Capillaroscopy course will provide delegates with a detailed overview of nailfold capillaroscopy, including diagnostic guidance, clinical examples and research applications.

Attendees at our Nailfold Capillaroscopy course will have the chance to learn from clinical and technical experts the relative merits of various capillaroscopy devices, including both high magnification (videocapillaroscopy) and low magnification systems (dermoscopy, USB microscopy).

There will be a key focus on practical, hands-on learning with a number of microscopes and imaging systems available to use as well as live demonstrations with patients.

Learning objectives - by the end of this course you will be able to:
- Discuss the indications for capillaroscopy, and the different methodologies
- Describe the contribution of capillaroscopy to the 2013 classification criteria for SSc 
- Describe the abnormalities suggestive of a SSc-spectrum disorder
- Demonstrate an awareness of recent advances in capillaroscopy 
- Perform capillaroscopy using different techniques 
- Demonstrate an awareness of research applications

Who should attend?
Rheumatology consultants, rheumatology trainees, and allied health professionals with an interest in capillaroscopy (for example, specialist nurses or vascular technicians at scleroderma centres).
