Short-term rheumatology research fellowships

We're now accepting applications for short-term research fellowships in rheumatology.

These fellowships are for short pieces of research work lasting between 6 months and 1 year. We encourage applications from less experienced or novice researchers, supported by senior staff. These fellowships are intended for either a stand-alone, short research project or a pilot study, which could lead into a larger grant or PhD application.

We invite you to propose an area of research of your interest, which will be assessed in relation to how it supports BSR’s strategy and strategic aims. You will need to select a supervisor and institution (BSR can assist with this) and they need to sign off your application.

These fellowships are open to all BSR members, at any level, and for any discipline within the Rheumatology MDT. The work can be undertaken full time or part time. There is an annual fund of up to £80k available to the panel and we hope to support more than one project, so as a guide we suggest about £20k to £45k per project. We are keen to support cost sharing models.

The closing date for applications is 31 July 2017. Applicants will be informed of outcomes by 31 August 2017. The Fellowships can commence from 1st September 2017 to 15 October 2018.

Interested applicants should submit a CV and application form.
