This training programme designed for members and delivered by experts from the British Society for Rheumatology will set the standard for ultrasound training in the UK. A total of three modules provide comprehensive learning opportunities for all the professionals working in rheumatology practice. Each module includes introductory and advanced levels.

The three modules are:

  • Ultrasound in inflammatory arthritis (hands and feet)

    Module lead: Dr Richard Wakefield and Dr Sarang Chitale

  • An introduction to the use of ultrasound in hot swollen joints
    Module lead: Dr Ishmael Atchia and Dr David Wright

  • Ultrasound for regional anatomical scanning
    Module lead: TBC

Taught in small groups with plenty of opportunity to gain hands-on experience each module will include standard machine craft core knowledge and will be supported by online learning before and after the face to face course. This blended learning programme aims to support you in your lifelong learning.

The first two modules will be delivered together over two days in Liverpool before the British Society for Rheumatology Annual Conference.
